Things I love about being a Pregnancy and Postpartum Coach

Today marks a year since I went back to work as a secondary school PE Teacher and decided ‘I want to be the person I needed and wanted’. I drove to work with a massive dread, cried in the car and had that awful pit of the stomach feeling every time I stood in front of a class. I lost my confidence, felt constantly pressured and was miserable. This feeling was completely unexpected, I mean teaching was a career, not something I would ever end up stopping.

But fast forward a year and I am the happiest I’ve ever been and now I’m a better wife and mumma for it.

And here are just some of the things I love about being a Pregnancy and Postpartum Coach:

1) Supporting physical and emotional well-being
Pregnancy and postpartum periods are significant transitions in a woman’s life, both physically and mentally. As a coach, I have the privilege of supporting these women through these changes, helping them maintain or improve their physical health whilst also addressing any emotional challenges they may face.

2) Empowering women
Helping women take charge of their health and well-being, whether that’s through tailored exercise programmes or mindset coaching. I love helping women realise their strength and potential during this transformative time.

3) Creating safe and effective workouts in accessible environments
Designing workouts specifically tailored to the needs of pregnant and postpartum women requires careful consideration and expertise. Creating classes where mums can bring their babies whilst still achieving their fitness goals is incredibly fulfilling.

4) Building a supportive community
Pregnancy and motherhood can sometimes feel isolating, so I love connecting with women and building a community in which they can share experiences and uplift each other.

5) Celebrating milestones and progress
From the first trimester to the postpartum recovery phase, every stage of pregnancy and motherhood is filled with milestones and achievements. As a coach, I love celebrating victories with my clients, whether it’s getting their first box jump for example, lifting a new personal best or simply feeling more confidence and empowered in their bodies.

I don’t hate teaching, it still has a place in my heart. Simply now is not the right time for it and that’s okay.

I absolutely love helping women get stronger, more confident and more resilient throughout their amazing motherhood journey and can’t wait to see where the future takes me.
